MORGAN ASHLEY ROBERTS
ABOUT ME
I would love to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I’m Morgan Roberts. I grew up in a tiny town just outside of Greenville, South Carolina – Powdersville to be exact. Nearly from birth I adored playing dress up, sketching clothing designs, and reading Seventeen Magazine. Being in the fashion industry was almost always a guarantee for my life and its so exciting to be working toward this goal at the University of South Carolina.I have taken several retailing courses about the principles of fashion and visual merchandising, store design, and retailing in general. I am very confident in my design capabilities and I am thrilled to get to share them with you.
My attention to detail is somewhat a blessing and a curse. I can make myself crazy trying to produce something that I’m proud to put my name on, but in the end, that’s part of the fun of it all. I love to create. I can craft all day with a hot glue gun + some markers or sit behind a laptop for hours designing a logo. I’m also very open to a wide range of trends, which I think manifests an attitude of willingness to change. I like to switch up my looks and I’m not afraid to take a chance!
By the time you finish reading the last word in this sentence, you’ll have already formed an opinion about the aesthetics and overall look of this blog. That’s what I find so insanely interesting about human beings and their effect on the world - especially visual merchandising + store design. Within a few seconds we make up our minds – is this outfit pretty? Is this store attractive? Is this window display chaotic? Is this color scheme boring? I have come to realize the importance of a first impression on consumers and the science behind the art of visual merchandising.
My passion and fashion merchandising degree are my motivation and source of information for this blog! Join me on this journey to discover more about the complex world of retail and to learn tips about how to create the perfect brick – and – mortar space. We have so much more to learn!
